Single Volunteers San Diego Members Area

Single Volunteers San Diego (SVSD) is a not-for-profit organization of single people who want to meet other singles while volunteering around San Diego County.

HOW DO I MEET OTHER SINGLES?saysbbq1-150

1) Volunteer. For most events sign-up is on our Event Calendar and you can see who else is volunteering. Then make a point of meeting them at the volunteering opportunity.

2) Attend the social events. At the social events you get to see who else is single and likes volunteering. Then you can see if you have similar interests in volunteering and volunteer together. Or just know who else is a volunteer and meet them at volunteering opportunities.

WHO DO WE VOLUNTEER FOR?

We have assisted Racelegal.com, SAYS, Stand Up For Kids, MDA, San Diego Audubon Society and many more organizations. Please click here to see a list of past events.

As volunteer opportunities occur, we post them on our Events Calendar and email our membership (most, but not all the time). Most volunteer activities involve a small number of volunteers at a time, however, we do get calls for large numbers for major fund-raising events.

Ongoing Volunteer Needs: If an organization has an ongoing need for volunteers that is posted separately at Ongoing Volunteers Needed.

HOW TO JOIN

Please do not join unless you will volunteer and please do not volunteer unless you are sure you will attend. Given that, if you want to join go here: JOIN!

The Members: As of January 1st, 2009, we have over 1,500 members in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and up! Most are in their 30's and 40's.

SINGLES SOCIAL ACTIVITIES, SINGLES PARTIES/MEETINGS

p4240043The people in this group have three things in common to start-off with: they are single, in the San Diego area, and like to volunteer! That's a good start. We try to have at least one singles event every month or two. The parties are normally planned for the 3rd Saturday of the month at various places around San Diego County.

Social events normally have a $5 - $15 fee associated with them. Social Event fees are not-refundable, but may be applied to the next event if the event needs to be cancelled.

SINGLES TRAVEL

Also, we now have Singles Trips! A company that puts together 40 trips a year for singles has included us in their sources for singles. If you pick a trip because you like it, the people you meet on the trip will have that in common with you and also be single! Another great way to meet! Click here for information on singles trips.

New Single Volunteers San Diego Website! Members need to re-signup!

Yep, this is a new Single Volunteers San Diego website and I can not transfer over information from the old website. All members have to re-signup! Good way to find out who really wants to volunteer and stay a member too! Re-signup here!

With this new website you can:

  • Access Events & sign-up if the non-profit wants sign-up on our site
  • Find Ongoing Volunteer Opportunites
  • Create a profile so other members can see if there are any common interests
  • Contact other members (private messaging system)
  • Members can also post ads for their businesses cheap!
  • Get money ... under SUPPORT there is a link to svsd.frmall.org which is our Fundraising Mall. It allows you to buy online stuff you normally do and get a commission back. Check it out for more details.

About to add a Forum where members can discuss things. Need suggestions for major topic areas! Contact with your input!

Some topic areas I am thinking of for discussion are:
